2- Proposed Models for a Democratic Transition in Iran

This is the third webinar in a series focused on free elections and models for democratic transitions. Continuining with the topics from “Elections in Closed Political Systems”, this session will examine the experience of the democratic transition in Serbia, and then compare the processes of revolution and reform in the context the Iranian political environment. After studying the experiences of the five other countries examined in this series in order to gauge the potential for a democratic transition through either revolution or reform, the role of methods of civic resistance in producing a democratic transition in Iran will be considered.
